The authors of Signposts

 

DONALD C. JACKMAN is of Australian, English and American background. He received the Ph.D. in Medieval European History from Columbia University in 1988 and has subsequently published books and articles, including a number of papers in the German language. While working towards an M.A. in Applied Linguistics (awarded 2003) he provided structured ESL tutoring to students of many nationalities in a wide variety of fields at each university level. For several years he also administered a large-scale peer tutoring service in foreign languages for university undergraduates.

YOUNGSUK CHAE is Associate Professor of English at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She received a Master’s degree from Kyung Hee University in 1992, another from Indiana State University in 1998, and a Ph.D. degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 2005. She is the author of Politicizing Asian American Literature: Towards a Critical Multiculturalism (2008) and numerous research articles primarily in Postcolonial and Asian American Literature.
